Overview

Reco provides an AI-powered product question-and-answer widget for Shopify merchants. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how merchants and shoppers can contact us about privacy requests.

Information we collect

• Shop information needed to install, authenticate, and operate the app, such as shop domain and app session data.
• Product and review data that merchants connect to Reco so the widget can answer product questions.
• Widget usage data, including shopper questions, generated answers, anonymous session identifiers, feedback clicks, and basic diagnostic events.
• Merchant configuration data, such as widget text, typography settings, and selected review-provider settings.

Information we do not collect

• Reco does not collect payment card information.
• Reco does not require protected Shopify customer data for its current functionality.
• Reco does not intentionally collect shopper email addresses, phone numbers, order histories, or shipping addresses through the storefront widget.

How we use information

• To provide the Reco widget and answer shopper questions using merchant-approved product and review content.
• To maintain conversation context, improve response quality, and diagnose app issues.
• To provide merchants with analytics about product questions and widget engagement.
• To comply with Shopify platform, security, and privacy requirements.

Service providers

Reco uses infrastructure, database, analytics, email, and AI service providers to operate the app. These providers process information only as needed to provide the service, secure the app, and support merchants.

Data retention and deletion

We keep merchant store data only for as long as needed to provide Reco, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When a shop is uninstalled and Shopify sends the required shop redaction webhook, Reco deletes store-linked data from its systems.

Security

We use HTTPS/TLS, authenticated database access, and limited access controls to protect information processed by Reco. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to protect data using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
